Electric Window?

My motor in my electric window is beginning to give me some problems with not working sometimes, can anyone tell me how difficult this motor is to change? its in a 92 notchback. just wanna know how long it takes, if its something i want to try to do myself or not, and things like that.

Any help is much appreciated...

on my vert, 3 bolts come out and the motor comes out (through the speaker hole, IIRC). real simple. though i did not have an issue (which may have been an anomoly), be careful to make sure that the regulator is not gonna let go when you remove the motor (that regulator can cut off fingers, etc, if it comes loose). i ALWAYS assume that they will let go (a la some GM's) and take appropriate precautions.

Yeah watch out for that regulator. I put a whole in my fingernail replacing my window motor.

You shouldnt have a promblem doing it pretty easy.

I'm doing the door latch right now. Now thats a PITA project. Considering my outside and inside door handles dont work on the pass. side. It's really frustrating I might just grab a new door. LOL

Thanks guys for your remarks, I have a small problem with my windows not working sometimes, but it only happens when they are down, and sometimes dont wanna come back up. When I hit the window switch I can see voltage drom with my dash guage, but I hear nothing from the motor, so I guess they are just work out

In the last couple months it has been something new needing replacement each week, first was the engine, then head gasket, then alternator, then starter, then solenoid, now window motors on both windows start acting up, and the newest is my car will just die, It doesnt sputter, or skip or anything like it would with low fuel or timing or anything, It just purrs like a kitten and out of nowhere DIES!!! I am thinking with it dieing so abruptly, It is electronic, Maybe my MSD box is needing replacement or something. The 6al is the only electronics on the car other than the MSD distro. the distro has all new internals replaced by MSD only a few weeks ago, but the 6al is about 4 years old so maybe its time for a replacement. I'll just have to wait and see
