I remember reading about a product that grounds to a car or something or puts a charge through the car to prevent rust. Does anybody have any idea what I'm talking about? I'd like to find something like this.
Doesn't that refer to electrolytic corrosion, ie corrosion between two metals with different electrical charges? (or was it just dissmilar metals?)
I've seen magnesium cathode/anode(?) radiator caps that supposedly prevent corrosion by sacrificing the magnesium slug instead of the cooling system parts.
The problem with this principle when applied to the whole car is that rust is caused by iron in the steel reacting with oxygen in water or the air, not a reaction between two metals involving electrical charges.
I see, it's kind of like the opposite of an Ionic Breeze house air filter. The rust preventer uses something like static repulsion to keep water atoms away.
However, I'm very skeptical of someone that boasts "independent testing results" and then does not make them available. That just amounts to empty claims.
