I started up my 67 Mustang GT the other day, it has a factory 8000 tach, I went to shut it off and I noticed that the tach was reading 10,000 rpm's, when I raved it up it did not move, however it did react a little, (I thought , darn the tach is not working), I went to shut the car off and it did not shut off, it kept on running, the tach also stayed where it was. I put the key in ACC, and it did nothing, I put it in the off position and it did nothing. Then I put it in the start position and it did the starter grind, I then put it in the off position and it shut off like normal, I restarted it and everything was normal. I shut it off again and everything seemed normal.
What is up? Is it the ignition switch? Is it the selnoid? PM me or something! It never did that before and it is not doing it now. I was thinking it just happened because it is in storage and cold out?

It may be correct, because I drove the car with no issues last summer. It only did this , this last time I started it after it sat for about a month during the winter. So this is something that just happened.
