electrical problem

I have a 2000 V6 mustang which is giving me a little problem. The car is giving me every indication that a door is open all the time, i.e. alert when the key is in the ignition but not running, dome light on. I assume this is a problem with a switch or a sensor somewhere, anyone know where to start looking for the problem?

Yah it the door jamb switch. Ive had that problem in my mazda pickup. Either replace it or just un hook it

my car is just plain stupid, it beeps if the door is open, with no key in it, the key in, in the first position (radio and stuff), or running, it just likes beeping when the door is open. i dont mind it much but im pretty sure that shuldnt happen if the car is off, with the keyout and everything...

Do a search in both the talk and tech V6 sections. Someone else posted a problem like this and I gave them a step by step fix. And it worked too!
