Well, this isnt for a 4.6... but I beleive its a dash problem so im pretty sure the wiring is the same, or very close to it and we post a crapload more here than the V6 guys do.
This is for my GF's 99 V6.
She said she was driving the other day and she started to smell smoke and her dash lights started to dim and cut off, along with the backlights for the radio and air knobs doing the same.
I did a sniffer test (with my big ass nose) and could smell a leftover burnt electrical smell from the vent on top of the dash.
She has someone checking it out, but it sounds like its pretty obvious that it is a short in a wire.
How hard to pull dash? Whats involved?
