Getting ready to pull the trigger on long tubes and high flow cats and I started to wonder about emissions testing.

In some counties outside of St. Louis, mine being one of them we have to do emissions testing when we renew our license every two years. Along with the sniffing of our exhaust they also plug into the computer and run some tests.

Since long tubes are not "smog legal" am I setting myself up for failing emissions? I would hate to spend $700 plus for headers and god knows how much more for the install just to fail emissions.

You California guys should be under some restrictions so if anyone can provide some feedback I would appreciate this.

Never had to worry about it in the 66 as it was exempt.
