Emissions testing tune tips

Kyle

I don't think the absence of an egr will hurt you with how it burns
but it might hurt you on the visual

Main thing is the K's stay pretty close to 1.00 in Closed Loop which would
mean you are not burning too lean or fat.

I just got a sticker and they ran my Stang at 15 mph in 2nd gear for about
a minute and in 3rd at 25 mph for about a minute. Each test was at about
1800 rpm.

I duplicated on the street what they did on their rollers and saw the maf
volts showed about .9 to 1.1 volts for both test conditions.

I don't know how they do it in your state but you could call them and ask.

You then could focus in on that range and tune accordingly :D

Also ... make sure you get the car to normal temps before you hand it
over to them. Actually ... if it is a bit hot ... it will burn cleaner. If by
chance you lowered the fan temps ... you might wanna put em back
for the test.

Good Luck

Thnks grady....your always here to answer my questions!

In ma, they dont even open the hood.....If it passes its fine, I passed last year with my twin turbo setup with the same engine combo, only i was using the stock 4-cat h-pipe which is badass for emissions.

They actually put the car on rollers and start off at idle and measure acceleration, cruise and deceleration.....I gotta make sure i get a sticker soon because my car has become a cop magnet since i painted it orange.

however this is the last year it must be done.....from what i hear in 2008 they are stopping the OBD-1 testing, which i HIGHLY look foreward to.
