engine advice

i take it e6's are heads??? and the 289 are internals?....also i think im gonna keep it carbed so i dont know if that matters with theses heads or not and would like to be in low 12's or high 11's with a bottle......this is kinda off subject but is dallasmustang.com have quality stuff???

thanks for your help

lol. hes messin with ya.

Trick flow top end kit. replace rod/main bearings and rings. depending on what the cylinders look like run a bottle hone thru em.

edit: just saw ur carbed. get some AFRs or Twisted wedges and a single plane intake (victor junior) and a high revving cam. f-cam or a trickflow cam

How much are you looking to spend? I would say since you dont need to buy as many parts as us EFI guys. Spend your money on the heads and custom cam.

I think a good 650cfm carb should be good for you and a nice single plan intake. That combo should make at least 300 to the wheels...then toss a 150 shot on there and jump into the 11's!

i want to do it cheap as possible the problem i have is i dont know what heads will go on my 302... if i could get a used set and rebuild them or somthing thatd be great, also what nitrous set up would u recomend.....i was looking at a nx set up and looked like a plate that went under the carb or somthing like that... are gt40 heads any good/will they fit???

thanks

yes gt40s will fit. but if you want to make some real power look into a set of AFRs or Trick Flow twisted wedges. what year motor is it? you can find heads used all over the place...ebay, here, (dare i mention the other mustang site:shock: ) corral.
650 double pumper carb, a single plane intake and a decent sized cam.

a used nitrous kit will be a lot cheaper as well. i actually pieced mine together and only paid about $70 all together. nx makes good stuff and the plate under the carb will work fine.

dont forget about drivetrain tho. gears make a HUGE difference and so do tires.
my personal opinoin.... 3:73s for a manual and 4:10 or higher for an auto.
i had a 4:10 with a manual car and 1st gear was pointless for anything other than burnouts.
