My stang is an 87 LX that I recently did a HCI swap on, cast iron GT-40's, ported stock lower intake, f-303 and shorty headers. Already had a Flowmaster system with offroad h-pipe. I also removed the air injection system and had the muffler shop cap the inlet on the h-pipe for me. I started the car with the original speed density system in place just to not add another variable. It started and ran ok but it was eye watering rich. I mean it fogged black fuel smoke out of the pipes. I had a MAF swap kit in the garage and I did the swap this morning but now I'm getting a backfire that sounds like it's coming from the passenger side. Anybody got any ideas of where to start troubleshooting? I'm going to pull the plugs and check them but I'm pretty sure they're probably not going to tell me a whole lot because of the rich burn that I had before. FYI.. The rich condition does seem to be gone!
Thanks,
Tom
