I have a 92 mustang Gt and im in the process of trying to clean out my engine bay, by reroughting the wires and brake lines where they aren't visable in the engine bay. Has any one done this project, or have any advise on where torun the wires and brake lines, and how to go about doing this project. please post a pic if you have a clean engine bay.

I just recently reroute my brake lines and completely rerouted the main wire harnesses so that it could not be seen in the engine bay.
I did this about 2 years ago
and I was never completely satified on how it turned out. In June I decided to have the car painted and as long as I had everything off or out of the car I might as well redo the engine bay again.

It's a lot more involved than liquid on a rag and rubbing.

it has now come to my attention that the main wire harness is not comepletely removed from the engine bay( the wires going to the computer and wires along the fire wall are just lowered to the point where you can't see them) just the wires along the sides are in the walls (out of sight). do i have the right idea or is the main wire harness along the firewall completely removed from the engine bay? if anyone with this set up has any pics looking at the back of the engine bay looking at a downward angle please post, so that i may have a clearer idea. also does any one know how the brake lines are reroughted or how to go about removing them from the engine bay?
All the guys that use the stock harness usually just lower the harness on the back of the firewall below the lip on the back of the firewall and secure it there. The wires along the side just get tucked in the fenders. The way I did it was I rewired the whole car with a painless 5.0 efi harness and an 18 circuit harness. All my wires are behind the dash. Hope this helps. I was also refering to what kind of polishes are good to keep up with polished aluminum?
The simple way is to tuck them under the pinch weld on the firewall. You can barely tell they're there, but if you're like Almost Stock that is still not good enough

Also, the same goes for the main harness on the firewall. He put his behind the dash, on the inside of the car, I simply tucked mine under and wrapped it tighter (smaller diameter and now hard to see) and put it under the pinchweld.
As for keeping up with polished aluminum, I just use white rouge on a buff wheel and go to town.

Bending new lines is the simplest and easiest way that I know of.
Since the brake lines are already going in a downward direction why not keep them going that way? Instead of going downward and then upward like the stock lines just bend new lines and reroute them downward. As long as there secured and protected what difference does it make which way they run.
Believe me I'm not telling you what to do not by any means, all I'm saying is just think in a different direction other than stock.

I'm in the middle of doing this now. The passenger side is almost done. Its not hard at all, just need patience and time. The driver's side will be more of a headache I'm sure. I hope to work on it tomorrow, so I"ll take some pictures.
