Well i joined the military a whyle back and a baught myself an 1989 Mustang 5.0 GT. its a greate car ive loved them sence i was little but the power i want isnt there, it hauls ass but i want to haul balls you know? so i decided im gunna build a whole new Motor, but i dont know what block i should start with. anyone have any recomendations? im lookin at the 351W but im not sure if theres better ones..(i want to pull low 11's at least with the new motor) plus i am not sure if i want to supercharge it or not, or if that even makes a diffrance.. well thanks for the help i appretiate it.

research

a good start would be reading all the threads on this site and magazines on 5.0's you can find you need to start with what you want to spend there are so many different combos and everyone has there own opinion on whats best but a turbo is sweet if you got the $$$$$$$$$

summit

i prefer 347's great torque and so much fun but you have alot of researching to do or find local speed shop and tell them you want to be in the11's they should be able to hook you up with that spending limit just dont forget suspension mustangs are light cars my problem is all motor but no suspension work yet but will be done soon good luck

The 351w will handle more power than the 302, but you will need to buy conversion parts to fit the taller/wider 351w in fox body.
Here is some info on the 351w fox body swap.

Be ready for a read :)
It is a work in progress though.

I built my all forged 408w for about 6-7k, but I did most of the work my self, and all of the 351w conversion stuff was already done.

A 302 build will be much simpler, and the 302 strokers can yield great results.

Good luck
