Engine build ideas

So I'm thinking about putting a newer engine in my car and wanted to get some ideas. The engine in my 98 has well over 137k which is what shows on the broken odometer. I don't have tons of cash so here's what I'm thinking of. 2008 4.6 out of a crown vic that has around 15k and swapping the intake and plenum. Id probably put a new pi intake on it though. Right now on my engine I have a 75mm throttle body k&n intake and the diablosport predator. I'll prob get a new plenum, long tubes macs, x pipe and exhaust. I saw the engine on craigslist for 800. Trying to get more power without spending a crapload. What do you guys think???

Check compression on your ride, I doubt you have a tired motor as it sets currently. You could do a pi swap including new timing chains/guides/etc for quite a bit cheaper than what you would buy the pull-out motor for.

Was thinking of checking the compression. I've been checking around on parts and it seems like it it would almost be about the same to do the pi swap.
