Hello everyone,

I have a black 1993 vert lx with black top and interior. Im in the process of building a 351w to drop into it. The 351w is back from the shop. Has been cleaned up and now Im ready to paint it. I know the classic color of ford engine paint is blue. But,,,, Does anyone know if there is any other colors?

Thanks for any input!

I'd just paint it black. It'll be easier to keep "clean" than blue, and will match the car better.

Safety Orange!

Seriously, though, I'd go with the above mentioned black block and silver heads/upper kind of deal. Looks clean n' mean.

I usually do mine black also, but I decided to a little different with the one I'm putting together now. I painted it "Cast Coat Iron". I think it looks pretty good.

What i don't like about black is that you can't see oil leaks...but that can be a good thing too i guess. I always liked red engine blocks but i'm really happy with the Ford blue that i used on mine. I have a thing for the classic engines and it gives it a real old school look.

Put together

I'm gonna have the valve covers, intake and breather lid all powdercoated a satin silver color to look more factory like the old big blocks.

Thanks for all your ideas/suggestions. I've decided to go with Red. I found some ford red engine paint at the local auto part store. Look's good so far.
