Can someone please take a picture and post it for the engine crossmember and where this connects on the underside and with what bolts ? This is not the transmission crossmember, but the one that goes from side to side in the engine bay. I believe it is bolted to the frame rails on the underneath right behind the shock towers. I need to get this item today and I found a guy who has it, but I need to make sure it is the right thing before I drive an hour to get it. I need to have it in place before this weekend because the car is going to the frame puller to be pulled straight and if this is not in place, apparently the frame can be pulled out of whack. My car came without this and I have not been able to find a picture of it so I am not sure if I am getting the right thing. Thanks for the help.

crossmember

thanks for that info. If anyone has any more info and pictures, that would be greatly appreciated. I need to pick this thing up this evening and I don't know what it looks like. Thanks.

The piece you want is a simple bent steel tube with flattened ends. Two bolts attach it to the frame, one per side, but these are not ordinary bolts, they have ( if I recall correctly) a 7/8" head and are tapered on the underside of the heads.

What year car do you have? IIRC the engine crossmember is the same 64.5 - 68, V8 or I6 (frame rails are same width apart)
Like the other poster mentioned it has flattened ends and looks like a wide "u"

What happened to yours? Did you take it off or did you buy it with it off? Hopefully the bolts holding it in place ar not snapped off inside. (what a Biotch to get out) The bolts look like a lag screw.

Can you possible take a picture of where it attaches and the bolts? I would appreciate it. I think I have the bolts and I found someone who has the bar, but not the bolts with it. When I looked where he explained, there are 2 bolts in there, but I am not sure of the size because someone borrowed my tools. It is larger that 13/16ths though because I had that socket and it didn't fit. If you could take a picture or if someone has a pic, that would br greatly apprecitated. Thank you.

This is a pic of a '66, I don't know if there is a difference.
