My 05 has started acting strange tonight. I started it up earlier tonight and moved it into the garage and the rpms seemed to get stuck at 2000 rpms for about 15 seconds then went to normal. When I got out of the car I smelled the clutch or some funky smell At this point I was curious wether the car was okay so backed out of the gargae and took the car for a spin. I went through all the gears and shifted at 6000 rpms everything seemed fine. When I started to slow down the the rpms shot up to 4000 rpms for about 30 seconds and finally the message display beeps and says engine fail safe mode and the car had no power at all. At this point I thought a blew the engine and i drove home on 4 cylinders it seemed like. Once in the driveway I shut the car off and started the car back up and everything goes back to normal. I took the car for a spin and now everything is okay. Have any of you experianced this or know what the problem could of been? Should I take it to the dealer to make sure I have no engine damage? The car is all stock except for a for racing axle back exhaust " borla stingers". Any info would be appreciated!
