I’ve pulled the Terminator X from my 86 Fox, and am re-installing the OEM harness and ECU.
Am I right in thinking that I need to move the heater box to make room to install the harness through the firewall? Do I need to remove the dash to do it, or is there a magic way to loosen the heater box to move it out of the way with the dash in place?

When I swapped my 93 I didn’t move anything. Pulled the 4 cylinder harness out of the fire wall and installed the V8 harness back through it in about an hour.

You need to remove the ECU and bracket to gain access where the harness passes through the firewall.

The ECU isn’t connected, but not able to get the ECU connector past the heater box. Do you have A/C?

Yes. It’s been 20 years since I did the swap but I remember it was tight but nothing difficult. I did come across this video on removing the ECU in which this guy removes the blower motor which would give you all kinds of room.

I had time to pull the blower motor today, the job was pretty easy once I figured out what was different on my 86. Thanks for sharing the video.
