Well it went pretty smooth. Including the pilot bearing, clutch, flywheel, bellhousing and the actual DROP, it took about an hour. We were done by 8h30pm. I was suppose to work a little on it but I had the biggest headach (whatever you spell it) so I stopped and had dinner. SO here's the first picture of how it is right now...really messed up in there

Suppose to rain tomorrow..again.

Unfortunately I wont have it by this weekend. I'm pretty dam pissed about it also. Today, its raining. I'll be able to do a few things under there anyway. Tomorrow, my GF wants to go fishing. I just bought her a fishing rod for her birthday 3 days ago Friday, I'll have to go help her decorating a room because she organized a party for her parent's 25th wedding anniversary. That place is in the middle of nowhere. Saturday, after3pm, I'm stucked to go to that stupid party.

Worst timing ever ... I'll do my best to have it running ASAP. Cant wait to hear the sound of that engine !

Naah, I'll be able to make it. If I have some troubles, I'll just call ZOMA and borrow his 95 so I can copy the whole engine's wiring bullcrap.

Yesterday was only the drop, nothing more. Today, I tightened the 4 bolts from bellhousing to transmission(was laying in the water), and I tightened the 2 motor mounts bolts. Was surprise to see I had trouble to set those at their place. Their so stiff. A few hit with my hammer and everything went in perfect. Now I'm going to see what I can do with my headers.

Tonight, in the rain, I installed the longtubes. Had to unhook the H-Pipe, which wasnt in the plans , but everything went ok except one stupid header bolt. It just didnt wanna go in. The closest one to the firewall on the driver side. God dam brake booster is in the way all the time. I found out that my stage-8 locking header bolts are too long for my heads. That sucks..they're expensive. I'll have to sell them and buy the regular stage 8.

My chrome dipstick will fit without any bend at all between the longtubes. FORD should advertise that. A lot of people would buy it, I guarantee it. As I was moving stuff trying to tight my header bolts, I notice a little puddle of oil. I'm like WTF.. I look closer and one stupid hose from the power steering started to leak, just like that. It had been hitting the header last year I guess, and the header made the rubber melt to the point of a leak. By moving it, it propably craked. I'm lucky it was just a regular hose. Very cheap.

Tomorrow,if I'm not going fishing, I'll put the starter, the dipstick, the clutch cable, put the heater core tubes on the lower and start the wiring. Woohoo.

You did something in the rain? Or was it a flock of birds revenging the death of their friends?

Sounds like everything is moving forward.

New update

This is how the engine is at the end of this day.

As you can see, I got the wiring started. Also, bolted the starter, bolted the heater core "metal tubes", new coolant sensor, put the chrome dipstick in (Its in but not attached to the header yet), and attached the clutch cable. My uncle came for that part as I wasnt sure what "feeling" I was suppose to have with the cable. I found out that my brother in law put the distributor wrong. Eventhough he said it was like that. I checked my archives pics and notice how it was really suppose to be. I hope I put it right this time. There were 2 marks. One on the distributor shaft and one on the block. I matched them up and the distributor went in very smooth. I'll double-check that for sure. Pretty much all the connections from the main harness are plugged in, injectors included.

But now I think I'll need help. I'm not sure how to route the last 2 harnesses. One that goes to the starter and the other to the block heater, I think. I need to visualize how it is routed, thats all. Jim, dont be surprise if I call you man..

Update

I want to thanks Jim (and Dan ) for letting me look under the vert so I can manage to route my harness. I got everything done tonight, after 9pm, since today was GF's day. So is tomorrow. All the work involving working under the car is done. The main harness is all plugged in, including o2 sensors, starter, a few brackets, etc.

Tomorrow morning, before I go, I'll be able to put the stang back on its tires and I might, if I have time, attack the front accessorie brackets.

Its going fairly fast. I like it. Now I need tranny fluid, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, a new hose for the power steering and spark plugs ASAP.

Update

I installed the accessorie brackets today with alternator, coil, tensionner, etc. Gotta go buy that return hose for the power steering AND gotta go to that stupid party. Starting to look better and better everyday. I cant wait to hear the new sound...and to floor it, of course.

Yes indeed. Now I need spakplugs, ADJ fuel pres.reg. and new sized belt. I fixed the power steering return hose yesterday. Now it wont touch the header anymore. And I spent a lot of time trying to cut in my fenderwell to insert my big@ss mass air meter but I failed. This think is just too big. So as much as it pisses me off, I'll have to leave that sucker in the engine bay But I'll put it as far as I can. So I did installed the upper + TB and elbow to see the fitment of my mass air and filter. It will look pretty good. Lots of black but this is how I wanted it. Today is raining. If it stops, I'll try to put the power steering pulley (need a puller), and install the rad and fan and hoses.
