Hi all, NOOB here!!
Just trying to figure out my options for engine management for my '95 GT...
Bought the car half finished from a friend and currently have the following setup...

Stock 302 Block
AFR 185cc heads
Vortech T -trim supercharger

Am still in the process of installing above but need to upgrade computer since the '89 computer that is installed will not run correctly with these mods.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

why wont the computer correctly with those mods? there are tons of people making huge horsepower with the stock computer. im not real familiar with all the different blower specs, but unless its the vortech renegade kit im sure you can use the stock computer. youll need a custom burnt chip to get all the power out of it though. what kind of cam are you planning on

It has a Steeda cam in it, but am unable to get a hold of the kid that I bought the car from to find out what the specs are on it... The reason i said that it will not run right is because this is what i have been told by a few different people.
What is the reason that the car has a stock computer from a '89 mustang? Is it because of the cam that is in the car?

Thanks,

nah, its probably the a9l computer. its a better computer than most stock ones. it has a better fuel curve and timing curve programmed into it. ive never heard of someone putting it in a 94-95 though. youll be fine with a custom burnt chip. check to see if your local dyno does them

ps. with that t-trim youll probably want a cam thats made for boosted applications. i dont know how the steeda cam is with those, but a fti cam would probably be the best and make the most power

Thanks

Thanks for all the useful info i will defeinetely be looking into the cam situation... With a reburnt chip can the computer i am using still be used? Not sure how it all works...

Thanks again,

a buddy of mine has a 94gt with 302, trick flow heads, intake, kenne belle custom cam...runs good most of the time, and pulls hard, but he has to run 52psi fuel to keep it from leaning out up top. the 94-95 computers are known for having problems with mods. some have swapped out the 94-95 computer for a 89-93 computer and fixed the problems...I have a Crane Interceptor PMS that allows you to set the rev limiter, and fuel injector pulses at idle, part throttle, and WOT. It has 3 settings for you to set, for everyday driving, little 'hotter' settings, then racing mode. Ford has newer versions of this but its an expensive piece of equipment..around a grand. I got my crane interceptor for $300 and its great.
