Here are some pics of my pull and teardown, I only chose a few, have hundreds but I will put them on my website later for anyone interested in more pics.

My block is now completely bare, just need to really clean, then choose a stroker kit, then it's off to the machine shop for the bottom end.

Looking at Probe industries, they give you a choice of 4 kits, one is pro street, dominator, etc... so assuming I pick the dominator, I know I'm getting twisted wedge heads, and it says with twisted wedge heads and give a kit with dome pistons, some one said they wished they got flat top pistons.. the other choice is dish.

All kits I'm loooking at come with the 5.315 rod length.. Because I am going with twisted wedge should I just go with the dome type...

the flat top and the dish type don't specify what there for, where as other kits say non-twisted wedge, twisted wedge, blower, etc.

My assumption is that I should go with the ones that say twisted wedge, but the responses I got a little while back, is kinda making me second guess which kit to get. My block is pretty much ready to go other than some cleaning I am going to do, even though I know they usually dunk the tank in acid or something anyways.. but I still want to give it a bit of a clean, so any help on choosing a kit would be great cause I really want to get it started..

Thanks guys.

Oh for some reason it only lets me upload two pics, I had 17 I wanted to upload, guess I'll have to wait to get them on my website..

dome= high compression, N/A
flat top = "average" compression, maybe some lower boost like 5-6 psi
dish = low compression, likes boost

Talk to brian adams over at AD's performance...he'll hook ya up with what you need and point you in the right direction. just tell him your goals

Hey 1991Vert, thanks for the reply, but the reason I am going for Probe Industries is because of the 5.315 rod length. For longevity would you guys recommend the flat top, and will these work with the twisted wedge??

they sell probe. i bought my rotating assembly from him, but i have since changed out the pistons for some Diamond ones. talk to brian and tell him you would like to use the 5.315 rod and he can get ya set up. they have a bunch of different combos on their website. talking to brian is at least worth the phone call

Thanks 1991 vert... I'm going to order that one!!! Sweet! I wonder how much my machine shop would charge me... I wish I could do some of it myself... I am a little confused about one thing, some kits say they come balanced.. I'm a little confused about the balancing, and how it is actually done, like is it balanced after installed in the block with pistons, is it just the crank that needs balancing.... to be honest I don't really know what the process is for balancing, I kinda understand why the whole rotating assembly would need to be balanced.. but ya... so other than that... when people say decked.. that is only if my block is warped or something right.. then I'll be in trouble.. but really other than balancing, I know there is boring which is neccessary for the 347 and honing, which I am assuming is kinda like a polishing smoothing kinda thing.. and I don't really understand what is meant by blueprinting.. like is that just a plan on paper... what is blueprinting?? Thanks!!! I just kinda want to understand what I'm asking to have done..

i like "zero" balance stuff. you would need a zero balance harmonic balancer and also a zero balance flywheel.

they balance the crank to the pistons/rods so everything is in balance.

the bottom of the cylinder walls will also have to be notched to clear the swing of the rotating assembly.

i'd let the machine shop worry about all of that man. just get the parts and hand them over
