OK,

I decided to overhaul the 289 instead of just replacing the cam.

Going back with Keith Black Flat Tops + .030

Comp Cams XE268H

Edelbrock RPM Manifold

And fixing little things as I go. Hoping for 275 - 300 at the flywheel

spend the money and have the rods rebuilt and the rotating assembly balanced, you wont regret it. with your combo you should hit your mark that you are looking for, if you add a set of world products windsor jr heads, or similar aftermarket head. you want something with 170-185 cc intake runners, and 1.94in/1.50 or 1.60ex valves. and dont forget the headers.

Thanks,

I already have Edelbrock RPM heads that I was running with the stock pistons. It was making 200 RWHP with the Performer cam and intake with the heads.

I'm looking forward to the next dyno trip.
