A while back i ripped the 351w out of my truck to rebuild it cuz it had no oil pressure. I put in a new crank and rings and bearings. I didn't replace the valve seals. Welllll. I get the engine together all set and it was running kinda weird for a while then it started smoking like crazy. I burned through like 3 quarts on a 2 hour drive. I was thinking it could be valve seals or upside down rings. I was pretty sure i installed every thing to the instructions but you never know. I did hone the cylinders and checked for ring gap. Only thing I didn't check is the ring to piston groove clearance. I will be doing a compression test tomorrow but I don't know if anyone has had this experience before. Kindof a bummer since I just got the engine back in again. Thanks in advance.
