Engine stalls when put in gear...

It's a 2.3 with an automatic tranny in a '88 coupe with speed density... all stock... Starts and idles fine but when put in gear, the engine dies immediately... I'm thinkin maybe a vacuum leak? Any ideas and input is greatly appreciated... Thanks in advance...

Check your vacume tree for leaks and also check to make sure the PCV valve is good and is hooked to all it's vacumes nice & snug. My car ran like **** for about a month before I figured out the pcv had slipped of the main hose.
