what rpm are you turning the engine? 205s are some pretty big heads for a such a small motor (306)

yeah you only have 24s pushing those AFR 205s those heads are WAY TO BIG for that engine...youll never reach the potential of those heads with a 306

I was gonna say, is it just me, or is that motor a clusterfook? Guess it ain't just me Port velocity > that combo. Heck, cam selection > that combo And how in the sam hill do you port CNC'ed race heads? Sure there's a little left in them, but people who would do that don't care what it costs, or don't mind paying...I somehow get the feeling that ain't the case here

I could see using those heads on a forced induction application with a 306, but It wouldn't be on a stock block. To take advantage of the 205cc intake ports, that thing would need to move a lot of air.

Sounds suspicious...

It is a mismatched combination. How many RPM are you pulling?

That is not going to be a fun car at all...cam is very wrong for the intake and heads IMO.......heads are oversized for CI's and injectors will likely be fine since I cant see it making very good power at all.

I bought the motor the way it sit. I got it in the car and all hooked up and I gotta say it is real strong. I dont agree with the cam myself I'd rather have a custom ground cam. I guy I bought it from was going to put on a supercharger or spray 200-250 shot of nos. So somebody give me some things that i need to do...Also the rocker arms stagger 1.6 on intake and 1.72 on exhaust......

good lord what a mess. I would say rip the heads off and sell them for what ever you can get for them and buy some AFR 165s. Those heads are far too big. A 306 just doesnt have the breath to run those heads. I bet that thing doesnt come alive until 4500 rpm.

i would sell the heads to be honest with you. Whats the purpose of the car? is it a street car of any kind? if yes...sell the heads. get something more street friendly. and then get a custom cam.

I dont even know what a vic jr, spyder, probe intake?????

I thank you all for the info and your opinion on what i got. Im goona take to the track soon and see what somes about it. The rpm of this motor is rite at 7900rpm shift point. I guess we will see what it does thanks.By the a victor jr intake is the intake that is made for fuel injection. It looks its made for a 4bbl carb....

I would say 165's would be better but who knows. My buddy has 185's on his 327 stroker.

why not go higher on compression? then you would have more power n/a an could still run pump gas. i agree with the heads bein to big. maybe 185s at most. from what i gathered you wouldnt see the potential of those heads unless your pushin a decent amount of boost or high revs, like 8k rpms an higher. just my 2 cents. i would do 185s, nice cam around 560lift with 1.6 rr, an put compression between 10- 10.5 max. still run pump gas an have more fun when you dont spray.

something doesn't sound right about all this! heads seem like way too much for a n/a 306 from everything i've seen over the years, but yet you're cutting some of the sickest 60ft's i've ever seen posted on here????.......
