1989, Driver's side near the hood hinge. The Main harness and Dash harness plug into eachother with a Black connector, and a Grey connector. Both are 8 pin connectors. Does anybody know what signals these plugs contain? Does anybody know if the contents of the connectors differ between 8 and 4 cyl?

Unfortunatly Autozone's wiring diagrams are incomplete and don't provide any connector information.

Also on a 1993 8 cyl. Same location. Single red 8 pin connector.

For those who want to know, I have an 89 4 banger, with a 93 engine and main harness in it. The 89 dash harness has these two connectors, grey and black. While the 93 main harness has a single red connector. I considered putting the 93 dash harness and it's single red connector in, but I'm sure I'll find it doesn't plug unto the rest of the car. So this is where I've decided to make the splice. At the Driver's side hood hinge.

If anybody can help to identify wires in either of these harnesses, I would be very much obliged.
Thanks

Sell it and get a correct harness, you need a 89 year only, all others will not work. I have done couple conversions and you will have all kinds of probs. Now you "can" get the 90+ harness to work but you will either have to swap dash harnesses, or do alot of cutting splicing (that is where you run into all the issues.) IMO dont even bother with trying to find out what all thoes wires go to. Do it right the 1st time. :nice:
