Engine wont pull over 3k

Ok Engine is all together, idles fine and sounds great. but when I get to 3k rpms the engine stops pulling almost completely and it rearely lights up the tires. What could this be? Could it be a timing issue. It seems like my car doesnt like 10* it likes WAY more than that (yes I installed the cam and timing chain correctly... Im absolutely POSITIVE).

This is how the balancer looks

I have a mark on the 10* part of the balancer and the engine runs like crap and misses at that position. But If I set it at anywhere after the part were I "cant read..." It idles and sounds fine. IS there another 10* mark after the 0BTC?

id say it was a timing problem or a fuel problem....or both....but im not sure how you would fix it

Check the fuel pump and make sure that it is supplying the proper pressure. A pump on the way out can produce the symptoms you are describing.

are you unplugging the little plug (forget the name) and then adjusting timing to ATDC?

I had this problem recently, it turned out that i had 2 plug wires swapped with eachother. I switched them around and bingo, 6k rpm revs.

I noticed you have catted h pipes. I had this problem once and it was the cats stopped up. Take them loose at the headers and see if it will rev higher.

Did you drop the distributor in in the right place. Being a tooth off is enough to cause your symptoms. The car should run fine at 10*. Set it back up on TDC and see where the rotor points under the cap. Should be pointing at #1 on the cap. Also check your firing order.

Ditto....also do as stated above and make sure your wires are connected properly.

clean your mass air flow sensor. my was doing the same thing until i tok apart the mass air and cleaned the two little wires and then it ran great. also did it when my computer chip went bad.

my car is doing the same thing, hoping the bassani x pipe changes that sunday of monday when i can put it on.
