engine

not in cali. changing the intake will immediatly flag the ref. all the rest cant be seen but anything changed under the hood not carb OE legal (so far nothing intake has been approved) can be seen then that a no in cali.

glad i live where i do, i could mount a viper engine to a set of axles with duct tape and a milk crate... teer with a pair of chains on the front wheels, and as long as i can drive it to the station i get a sticker. i love backwoods NC

Don't worry, the federal emissions testing requirement will hit your area within 5-10 more years. :nice:

will it be smog legal though pass a smog test?

As long as you don't modify the catalytic converters, egr, etc, having forged internals shouldn't change whether or not you can pass the sniffer.

I also have to ask, you said forged internals, and forged pistons.. you do know that pistons are part of the internals, right?

well in cali you could get by with stg1 cams and a stock H-pipe to pass the sniffer......a superchager will also pass with a real dead on tune the ones ive seen passing here where i live in cali are the prochargers but if you do change something and it dosent look stock then you will have to change it to stock sucks:( :nonono:
