After trawling through this site's various contributions - i found one that told me to "build your own car" on the Ford main website....and that will lead me to locate which dealers have got any stock of the car i want....
Net result being i located a Redfire metallic & Black Lthr, 2005, manual, stick-shift Mustang V8 GT premium Coupe !!
I purchased this physical car (with full VIN No) with a deposit over the phone from the UK and am having it shipped back to the UK next week !
It will be one of the first (and very few) in the UK as Ford are not officially bringing them over here.
I paid "list" or MRSP as you guys call it....at least i didn't pay over !!!
I am delighted because i've got the idea these cars are and will be thin on the ground for a while!

i can't stop smiling !!!!

Congratulations! You might want to hop over to Brad's site and take a peek at the Europe forum. There's some good info there, and good people.

How much will it cost to ship and bring the car up to UK specs?

Oh, and don't bet on the manual being the preferred transmission, except maybe on a Mustang web site, and even then the issue is not always clear cut. With the already tested performance of the 5 speed manual, it's going to take a good driver to better those times consistently. We shall see.

my personal preference is always manual on a sports car.
but americans - as far as Brits understand - always prefer auto regardless of type of car.....
but ...will a 2005 american muscle car be preferred in the UK as an auto or as a manual?
that's what i'm keen to find out

Congradulations! I am also in the process of purchasing a brand new 2005 Mustang GT and shipping it off to the Greek islands where I vacation for 4 weeks every summer. How much, if I may ask, are the shipping costs to ship your car over to England? The commercial shipping lines have given me a quote of around $3,000 to ship the car to Greece.

i'm new to this site....so i'm not in a rush to fan the flames, etc....but in the 2 days i've taken an interest in this site - which i have found to be hugely helpful (thankyou) ...it has become plain to me that the member (P er for nce red) is a tosser.
a pratt
a five knuckle shuffler..
'cos i don't think he's appearing on this site for any other reason than to wind people up and p!ss people off....
this is the last time i'll rise to his bollocks.
Twat that he is........

Hey Bridgestone Boy,
That's not nice. What's with the accusation about me being a tosser and a knucle shuffler? All that I asked you was to find out how much it cost you to ship your brand new Mustang to England. I didn't ask your opinion about what you think about me. I could care less what you think about me. Stop being an idiot and just answer my question. Or are you just too aristocratic to answer my question?

I thought that all you English were bright people and that you could answer a simple question when it is clearly presented to you. I guess that I thought wrong. What's with you English? I always see the English at the beaches on the Greek Islands. You all look like a bunch of red apples under the hot Mediteranean sun. And what's with all the freckles? You people have as many freckles as there are stars in the Greek evening sky.

Check out Http;//BRADBARNETT.NET or do a Google search for 2005 mustang. You'll find a smaller site but it's the best on the web, and a lot more gentle than what you have found here. You'll like it. And i may have some questions for you.

Please. Just please. Chill. In every thread you come across as antagonistic and confrontational. Why is that? We're just exchanging information here. If you don't want to participate in that helpfully, then please don't don't post a reply. Let's keep these forums a little more mannerly.

Scottie1113,
Yes, we are just exchanging information. Just to remind you here, I asked the Englishman to give me information about the cost for shipping the Mustang to Europe (in England). I didn't ask him to give me his opinion regarding what he thought about me and for him to call me a tosser and a knuckle shuffler. So that's why I said what I said.

What I said was not a racial remark. I just said exactly what I saw while vacationing in the Greek islands. There's nothing wrong with that.

please dont turn tonight into in argument on every thread. According to your profile, you have a vast education, so im sure you've learned somewhere along the way to just stop, and not insist on having the last word.

Actually...my fault...i came in @ 2.30 am after a boozy night out with friends and just before i fell into bed i had a quick look at the site.
Perhaps i shouldn't have.
There is something irritating about P..RED - but nonetheless i was a bit over the top in my remarks and duly offer an apology.
Costs...$2300 to insure and ship incl all documentation, by the way.

I have been looking into doing the same thing, been e-mailing dealers in the NY NJ area & intended to ship it out of Jersey.

Is your dealer taking care of shipment to the port? I was considering ordering a car then flying over when it arrives to collect it in person.

Then comes the dreaded mods for the SVA!

Good choice on the manual by the way.
