You have them pressed. I just went through this with my machine guy. He said that more and more guys are choosing not to have it done due to the negligible gain vs expense of bushing the rod. Money on a rod is much better spent making sure that there are good bolts in there, considering stock 5.0 rods come with bolts slightly larger than a chicken-peen. (5/16). And, ( don’t tell Collin) having the big end re-sized after that process.Well block is officially being worked on, after some measuring he told me to order .03 over pistons and to bring the rods and crank when they come in. I do love progress.
Big decision do I have the wrist pins pressed or should I have them bushed for floating pin? Likely to never see over 6500rpm
I have heard the block and heads must be perfect for these to seal, is there any truth to this? The cost for these is much higher than a standard style gasket almost twice as much are they worth the extra cost?I run lots of PD boost through MLS gaskets and ARP head studs and have zero complaints.
