The data is in!

2.8psi average increase backed up by multiple pulls, average 60* hotter mat temps...
The math...
5.7/14.7= 38.77% increase
8.5/14.7= 57.82% increase

10*= 1% loss
60*x 1%= 6%

57.82-6= 51.82% increase.....

Estimated 275hp na= 417.5hp with boost.

Of course we have to subtract blower drive loss and the math is just for bench racing but I think we will leave the fmic off the car.

Any thoughts???

Ha! Data means nothing unless you can back it up multiple days in a row.

New data, 230* iats NO GOOD! I start pulling timing at 200* by 230 she pulled out 5.3* of timing!!! Well 2.5 extra psi won't equal 5* of timing no matter how you play with the math.

intercooler is going back on.

Intercooler went back on and routed the pipes more direct with fewer bends.
7.5 psi. At 116* iat.... not bad at all its amazing how much loss 90* bends cause. Recurve the timing 28* all in by 2400rpm, I don't pull any timing until I reach above 5psi. At 8psi I am at 26* total. HUGE gains with colder air and more timing.
Now I can do rolling burnouts.

OK in all seriousness how much timing is enough and how much is too much????

The stock curve has 30 total at 10* base by 4500 rpm..... most people run 12-14*base for 32-34 total.
What I'm getting at here is am I leaving a lot of power on the table with 28* total??? Should I bump it up in the higher rpms or make it all in at 2400 like I do now, I'm still new to this and I want to get as much out of it as I can safely.

Just for reference I have..
Gt40 irons ported 2.02 1.6 valves
9.6ish comp..
7-8psi
93 octane. Air Temps are very low after the intercooler average 120*

Any advice would be appreciated.

I'm gonna stick my MS in today and start tuning. From what I've read, bump it up a degree at a time until it starts to ping and then knock it back down 2 degrees. That's my plan at least.

When you say ping, do you mean under load or just idle/revving in driveway? And if under load do you mean normal driving or giving her hell?

Well, you don't want pinging at all.

I would think your timing is pretty aggressive right now. With 9.6:1cr,iron heads,7-8#boost,and 28* timing -most boosted setups I've seen usually start taking 1* per 1# boost. Also the first time you hear pinging, especially under boosted wot, probably will be the last time you hear it for those head gaskets, pistons, etc. Detonation is no good lol.

After talking with Ramseys performance here in Lutz fl. He suggested not pulling anything until 5-6psi, then pull .5-1* per pound.

And that is usually based off the 30* total? I would think you're fine where you are at. Maybe you could add 1-2* more but I'd rather be safe than sorry. Your combo sounds like it's making good power especially down low and you wouldn't really benefit from that incremental bump in power. All about risk vs reward...

I know!,......You'd think such a computer savvy guy with DIY fab skills would be able to post a simple video.

Maybe he's camera shy like me

Like you, huh? Haha.

But seriously, I'd LOVE to see this thing running. A rolling burnout would be nice too.

Sorry guys had to chase down a wiring issue with the car. Went to go make a video and the car died twice in the driveway, so I looked the datalog over and saw all my sensors slam100%..... HHMMM I said to myself, the only wire all of them have in common is the sgn return.. so sure enough when I grabbed pin 46 on the connector to the ecc things started to freak out.
Soooo I pulled the ms out and opened the pin up with a paperclip and then hit it with some silver solder. All fixed now went through every pin just to be sure.

I will get some pov video posted up soon maybe Saturday I will hit the 1/8mile with some borrowed slicks. Hopefully it wont be of my trans going BOOM!!!!!!

I don't know how many miles you've put on it yet, but if you haven't put a satisfactory amount on the clock, I'd recommend enjoying more street driving before putting slicks on and breaking it. Take it from a jack stand expert. Driving beats spectating. My .02.
