Well there is the fender flare option. Mad Max style. They look real good actually, do both front and back you can run a 295 up front....

In all seriousness I'm going to roll the fenders on the car just to be safe. I have the fender roller just have to break it out.

@RaggedGT , have you read this yet?

I think I safely can say for the both of us that you need to do this.

My fenders are rolled as far as they will go and at my ride height clear fine with suspension travel. If I lowered it...... maybe those bushwhacker style flares would be the Mad Max way to go. My problem is the shock mount. Any appreciable body roll has contact with the tire on the inside.

Well until your mini tub it that's the price you're going to have to pay to run badass 315 wide tires

Troof. At the time there were posts of guys doing it without issue and others that couldn't clear a 295. It was truly a crapshoot. figured I'd roll the dice and see what happened.

I knew a 275 was safe so I went with it. I can throw borrowing the slicks off the racer out the window...

Ideally this is what I would want my car to look like at its end point. 275 up front and 315 in the rear. Overkill, but supreme handling and chassis flexibility.

Oh man I would kill for that car. Just friggin awesome. But for some reason I like the Mad Max look (Franky gives that away) I saw a car with the fender flares riveted on with the big aircraft rivets. Looking all flat black and pretty. For some reason that look is appealing to me

I think it works on some cars and if I had a functional race car thats probably where I would go. Sawzall the fenders and bolt on the new panels......I... just can't seem to go there. It bothers me on trucks and jeeps and it makes me grit my teeth on a car, especially one that shows up and gets ribbons on the show circuit.

I know what you mean a clean car is amazing. I'm more of a function over form kind of guy..... to an extent. It depends on the build/purpose of the car.

If you gave me a gutted car I'd have no problems bolting a wide body on and just flogging it through the tracks like a red headed step child.

I did read that dave, though I do agree wheel tubs are a great and worthwhile modification, I am scared of @stykthn and will make no suggestions to him, or steve... lol

I'm not against tubs, but honestly if I can move the shock mount in an inch it would solve 100% of my rub issue.

That's a 84. full cage, tubbed, battery relocation, fuel cell in the back. car has a 327 no name ported heads victor sr intake dominator 1100 carb. 250 shot of juice. I can attest to the fact that the stock block can handle well over 500hp. car runs consistant 6.1x numbers in the 1/8th with a 1.5x 60ft
That car belongs to my Dad, he is now very interested in doing an EFI conversion after a ride in my car.

Now that I have conquered the junkyard supercharger build (and found its limit).. updated the suspension, and brakes (to the 4 lug limit)... now I need something else to do...

I was thinking about shining the turd. You know pretty parts under the hood braided hoses and the like.. or maybe ordering new seat upholstery for the stockers (I hate these sport seats on a long drive).. Steering wheel leather maybe? Maybe fixing up the trunk mounted batteries into one box in the spare tire well?... roll the fender lips?

What do you guys think?
