If only i could swing it! The seat covers will have to wait about a year though. WAY too much stuff to get right now.

You're gonna put a 3.08 rear gear in your car? Are you planning on participating in the Silver State Classic ?

I now know that even a 3.55 is a little steep w/ a 4R70W....(considering that my first gear is like a 2.85:1) But when I get that thing going fast enough to consider putting it in 4th, the RPM drops down nicely to 2k.......What gear do you use currently?

Currently has a t5 with 3.73 gears. Engine is done making power at 5k. My power band is from 2.5-5k for most area under the curve.

With the 3.73 I need to shift into 4th well before the finish in the 1/8. I'm hoping the 3.08 will let me stay in 3rd.

First and second are crazy short with the torque I'm making, I also want to lower the highway rpm so in town Im not spinning 2.5k in 4th at 45mph, and 2.5k in 5th at 70mph.

I used a few rpm calculators before I made the decision. 3.73 to 3.08 is about 400rpm with a 28" tire.

What kind of graph? Dyno or gear ratio?

Then,.......Why do it?
I went to the same calculator,..and I concur. About 400 RPM. It's the difference between 1811 RPM, and 2193 at 70 MPH.

Is 1811 RPM at 70MPH even in your torque range?

Mike I spin 2325 in 5th at 70mph.
These will bring me down to 1920.

My tire size may not be 28"
Size is 275/40 r17.
I used this calculator.

I got my AEM wideband installed, all I will say is WOW. I can't believe I lived with that POS innovate for so long.

In the bad news column I let the car sit for 2 weeks and now I hear a damn exhaust leak on the passenger side..... figures.

What make the AEM so much better ?

One thing for sure is that our cars will always find something for us to stay busy with.
