hopefully I will like it better once it is black...... I still need to weld the hangers onto it for the coil packs I was mocking them up and snapped this pic. Maybe @madmike1157 was right I should have made it out of tubing. No going back now I have way to much time involved.

I like it, it looks like an A2W intercooler. It adds a certain Star Trekiness to the engine compartment. When you consider that air has to flow through an intercooler with similar contours, I'd think it'll be fine. Granted, I think a round tube version would've flowed better in a N/A scenario, and considering that the box that sits on top of the huffer isn't actually pressurized, and is actually being drawn through, it may have some consequence.

But,...I'm far from a flow dynamics engineer,.....what do I know?
 
Hmm. Had to jump into the way back machine to find my own build thread. Things are hectic right now, I get about an hour a day of free time so I don't get much done. Today was a rather stressful day, it started like any other day i checked my email drank coffee and then worked. Around lunch I get a text message, (are you available to talk) from the apprenticeship director of my local.
-Let step back to a week ago i went and had lunch with him to talk about my EPRI certifications controls experience and PLC knowledge. (I'm only 28 and have been a journeyman wireman for only 3 years)
He then offered me a job as an instructor teaching controls and instrumentation.....

Jump back to today he asks if I'm still interested, I said yes. I start sometime in December. Having to bring this info to my current employer is what was stressful, we are already short on experienced techs and my leaving means they have to try and find someone with similar certs to take my place ..... good luck in today's market with what they are paying.

On the upside it's a pay raise for me no more weekend work and only 15mins from the house.:nice: my only worry is I like to do things hands on hopefully I can get adequate shop time with the apprentices.

this is a Hobbs switch it is wired to the ecu as a input trigger. When the meth pump makes more than 100psi it will switch the fuel and spark tables to more aggressive maps.
To mount it I took a 1/8npt pipe coupling and welded a tab to it.

here we see my dual 65mm throttle bodies, one will get the cable attatched to it and drive the second with a carb linkage of some kind.

Once I get the vr sensor mount and blower idler pulley assembly done i will powder coat all of it. (TB will likely get paint but maybe natural would look good as well...)

I worked for years through weekends. Now my job has me off and I still can't get used to it ( about 3 years ). I'm so used to going to the welding supply store...or Fastenal ...or the metal store. They are mostly closed on weekends. The MVA and other important places are also shut down. I love my weekends with the kiddos....but jeesh I've got to take days off for every dang thing.

Ya know,......I look at your stuff, and when you get to a point where there is a blatant " need" ( like your throttle interconnect) I think to myself....

" I'll suggest that he get X, or look at Y." I even consider linking either a website or a pic of my suggestion....

Then I remember who I'm talking to...

I'm the 60 yr old guy trying to tell 28yr old Victor Von Frankenstein that he'd be better off buying new stuff, versus re-animating old, dead stuff....

Who am I kidding?

What are you using/doing to trigger the pump to turn on at say above 100 kpa?

Using my megasquirt, I have repurposed all of the unused I/O in the unit. I have 5 programmable outputs and 2 hardware inputs.

Outputs
-shift light -above 4800rpm
-watermeth- above 2500rpm and 5psi 135kpa
-fans- above 500rpm and 200* 10*hysteresis
-2spare

Inputs
-launch control triggered from clutch pedal switch
- table switching triggered from Hobbs switch
 
@jrichker what is the acceptable degree tolerance for a serpentine belt alignment?
What I mean is I am 1* positive on the y axis not sure about the x axis I will need to remove a tensioner and water pump pulley to accurately measure with a straight edge.
I have read the tolerance is not much maybe .5* .......however my angle finder shows OEM locations on my car to be in the 3* tolerance range. All measurements based from crank pulley.

The pulleys appear to be within 1/16 of each other on a parrallel plane.

the blower is bolted in a factory location, so it should be good, and all of your accessories are mounted on factory brackets,...where's the discrepancy coming from?
I eyeballed most of my pulley alignment, and everything is on a homemade bracket...Except the alternator.
I ran a straight edge across the faces of the pulleys to make depth adjustments, and used the block face to true the vertical, and right/left angles...all I have is one belt and everything is hunky dory, chicken peanie.

The discrepancy could be my viewing angle of the angle finder, it is analog. The tic marks are very close together so I can understand that point. As far as the left to right is where my eye is telling me I am off. Not by very much and it depends on what I base it off of. So a straight edge in the am will tell the tale. I want to do all of this one friggin time.

I went ahead and straight edged everything this morning... I pressed the power steering pump pulley on another 1/16 and then added washers to the ac delete idler to bring it back another 1/16. Now all the pulleys are within a .5mm margin of error...
As far as the angular alignment it really depends on how you view the angle finder so I used the straight edge here as well.. All looks good in the world now. I also managed to add another idler pulley to the backplate.

the pulley I used was off the oem idler arm.. I may swap it out for a 8rib flat idler since I have one.
To mount it I used a 4" grade 8 1/2" bolt and jamb nutted that sucker.
