So today I tore down what I thought was a 9 inch trac lok rear. I bought it used, and didn't realize it at the time. Well now I want to put new clutches in it, and well the 4 tab for the trac lok don't fit the 5 tab equa lock (Go figure).

So I hear they are discontinued and you can't order clutches. How am I supposed to rebuild this thing?!?!

I remember something about using FMX tranny clutches, and past that, I know all the rest of the parts are a royal beyotch to get.

I ended up with one of these a couple of years ago. Again, it was sold to me ask a traction loc. I ended up ebaying it as what it really was and got some money back out of it. But yeah, that stuff is expensive and if I remember it has one cross shaft instead of the Tlocs 2 so they are a lot weaker.

Yea, luckily today I was rebuilding the rear while at my store. Since we happen to be a parts store, I was able to source the necessary bearings while I was there, since the carrier is not the same and has a smaller OD which means the bearings need a smaller ID. Well all the bearings are done now, and the old clutches weren't really that bad, so I'm reusing them.

I guess this will be a temporary fix. Sounds like a powertrax is gonna get ordered for my old Open rear. At least I have the 4.11's now

Anyone have any idea on what kinda power this will put up with before it goes?
