My car is suffering from an erradic idle and I know it's being casue by the air bypass valve that's on the back of the upper intake. It's a 90 GT BTW. Anyway, bypass valve is all gunked up with carbon deposit. I've cleaned it real good with carb cleaner and parts washer solvent and it ran great with no issues for about 3 months. I don't want to spend the $90 bucks for a new valve if it'll gunk up liek this one already is.
What would cause the valve to get so much carbon build up to cause the valve to not work right? A new valve is a band aid fix to another problem I fear.
Anyone have an insight to offer?
