Erratic left blinker

A few nights ago my blinker decided to go nuts. It flashes about 3 times faster than it normally should. My buddy seems to think its because one of my bulbs is going to blow out. Others seem to think its an electronical problem. Anybody have a clue?

there is like some blinker switch which controls the speed of the blinker, its probably that

What kind of blinker fluid are you running. I run full synthetic and its lasted me 2000 miles so far. J/K . You have a blinker light out, thats all. Get a new one or you might attract the cops.

The thing that controls how fast your blinkers go is called a flasher. They sell replacements at any auto parts store.

As others have said it's a burned out bulb. It blinks faster as a way of letting you know that you have a burned out bulb.


Either that or you're using cheap blinker fluid

Mine does the same thing.........where do you refill the blinker fluid cause its really gettin irritating.........

if its not the bulbs it might be bad/burnt wiring, if all the bulbs are good then i would pull the headlight switch out and check the harness/wires behind it

You don't have those Euro LED bulbs, right? They make your blinker faster because it takes less power to light them up.

I think it might be some wiring or the flasher is bad. Both bulbs work.

my 94 has 3 bulbs, 1 per side in front and 2 per side in rear.

They also have the little bulb (I think its a 194 bulb) in the taillight, so really theres 3 signal bulbs in each taillight.

Mobil has come out with that new flasher oil. You have to start with a new flasher first and you should be good for a long, long time. On a serious note, I think it means it is time to buy a new cam. At least that is what I am telling my wife.

I think you're right on this one. But just to make sure I should get the heads and intake as well, you can never be too careful.

I guess I'll take a look at the back and see if both bulbs are functioning.
