First time going to the track with my 2003 gt 5spd. Out of 4 runs I ran 3, 14.7's @ 97mph with a 2.3 60ft. I do understand i need to get that 60ft down to a 2.0 with street tires but other then that are those numbers normal for an 88 degree day?

A little on the slow side.

A 2.3 60' is about right for the E.T., but you should be trapping about 3-5mph faster (depending on weather and mods). My car trapped 100mph on 28" drag radials (far too big for a bolt on GT, even with gears) in 90* heat with 90 something % humidity.

Another thing, what's the elevation of your track? The higher you get the slower you go.

Of course, it could just have to do with needing practice. It's amazing how much time quick shifting and knowing exactly when to shift will shave down an E.T.

I wouldn't get discouraged though.

For basically stock 97 mph is not that bad at all!!!! I could care less what your ET says. All that tells me is your suspension setup, and how good of a driver you are. Your trap speed tells you everything you need to know. Meaning you have a low 14 second car

That is almost exactly what I ran in my car with 4.10's. A little practice will get you low 14's.
