Evolv Tools

I just purchased a set of Evolv tools from Sears. I know a lot of xenophobic people give them a bad review because they're made in China, but they're marketed by Craftsman so there must be some quality to them. Well, my parts are scheduled to get here tomorrow so I'll get the opportunity to test out the tools. Anyone else have any tools from Evolv?

I got the 200 pc. mechanic tools set, btw, for $99.99 at Sears.

40 grand X_x you must do a lot of work...

I'm only going to use these for repairs on my Mustang, and I'm not planning anything TOO big anytime soon. I think this set will suffice for me.

I've seen them before and they look OK, but I don't see the point in not buying tools with a lifetime warranty. Even the super cheap-o tools at Auto Zone or Menards have a warranty.

But they do come with a lifetime warranty... All sears hand tools, with a fee exceptions including power tools, carry a lifetime warranty.

Yea... A lot of the new Craftsman stuff is now made in China. Sad.

I buy what I can afford. Craftsman is what I normally buy because of the warranty. I used to buy Matco, Mac and Snap-on tools when I was younger. But now that I am married and have kids I cannot afford to spend 2x as much on tools. Not to mention that if I break a craftsman tool I can go right to sears and get a new one. I dont have to wait for the snap-on or mac or matco guy to show up once a week. You are still supporting an american store by going to sears and buying tools.

Not all "made in america" stuff is "all 100% american made" Many times the parts are made over seas and then shipped to america for assembly.

This argument can go on and on. But thats my opinion.

40 grand X_x you must do a lot of work...

turned wrenches for a while, but i have a bad back, so i just do it as a hobby. if i wanted to go back in and do it again i would probably have to drop another 40-50 grand to have a decent enough selection of quality stuff to not have to borrow anything from anyone else.

Tracked down the snap on guy tonight and picked up a used 1/4in drive. cost 35 bucks with new guts in it but thats 35 bucks that will save me the aggravation that my other cheep ass 1/4 drive cost me.
I looked at the evolv stuff, it looked alright for light around the house work. Id have to use one a few times to tell if its junk or not.
