Awesome, very helpful. I knew it wouldn't take much to get these things sounding the way you want. Now for one more question, which of the 2 systems on the FRPP are you referring to?

One is a muffler-only setup with 4" tips while the other is labeled the "05-08 GT exhaust kit" with 3.5" tips and does not appear to be much more than mufflers anyhow.

05-08 GT Muffler Set (4.0" tip) $325
05-08 GT Exhaust Kit (3.5" tip) $529 (I'm guessing this one?)

I know exactly what you are talking about in regards to the Shelby GT sound / appearance and that is what I'm looking for. Question is... which one is it! Thanks a lot.

That's a good question, I would guess that also. I have heard a few mustangs with the FRPP mufflers. They sound great. If I were you I would just call ford racing and ask about the two kits, and get the one you want.

happy modding!

BTW
Check out youtube for exhaust videos. Mine are on there as well.

I love my SLP Loudmouths, you cant hear them when you're cruising, but when you get on it they scream like a banshee. I'm getting a MAC O/R Prochamber to go on 'em pretty soon. Here's my video. http://youtube.com/watch?v=ILnhV2xcHgQ

Whoa old thread revived! I ended up going w/ the Steeda Axle-Back.

After hearing another S197 with the Steeda Axle Back + High Flow Cat X Pipe from Maganaflow I decided that's the midpipe for me.

confused

I don't understand the pipes. I need to keep the catalytic converters and don't see the need to replace pipes before the converters. Would anything fit the bill for a decent hot rod sound without getting too loud? I assume catback means the package goes behind the converter?
Thanks.

I have that combo (except with a o/r H) and it's uh...loud. To say the least. I love it though. I figure I'm only young once (19) and can only get away with being loud and obnoxious for so long before I have to "grow up"

I ordered the FRPP Shelby GT axelback from ninosport last night. I called today about the out of stock situation and they were VERY helpful. They guy i talked to said he would call the actual manufacturer and see if they can just directly deliver the axel back to me.

So ninosport gets a def. +1 from me.

catback is from the pipes with the cats to the rear. the axlebacks are from the axle to the rear... really only mufflers with a small bent pipe for the inlet.
