Right now I have a MAC Off-Road H-Pipe and Flowmaster 40 Series mufflers on my GT. I am going to get a new cat-back soon and I have been looking around for the best sounding one that also makes a good amount of power. Which would sound better, Magnaflows with Magnapacks or chambered? Anyone have any other suggestions of what cat-back would sound good with my off road H? Thanks. :SNSign:

I'd say with the H go with something chambered. I think they're the best combo. Not saying it just cuz I have it, but Mac cat-back sounds nice too.

The only chambered muffler that I know of that doesn't sound good with an H are Spintechs. They sound like complete crap with an H pipe. However, with an X they sound awesome.

You might look into Hooker Aerochambers.

I say keep the flows unless your upgrading to like borla or basani.

Get the magnapac. I had the luxury of getting to hear like 4 different combos, and, if you get bassani X pipe, X is deeper, throatier, H is higher pitch, "nascar" sound, and the magnapac cat back, you'll be in love with your car. At 2400rpm it's the most glorious sound i've ever heard. It's what I have, and it's what my buddy has on his '03 cobra.

Also, the mac mufflers sound very very nice with the bassani x pipe too, but magnaflow takes it, that combo just, sounds too sick.

Here you can listen to cobra's and GT's with magnapac's, it's really cool, i'ts streaming video of what the car actually will sound like, check it out here's a link.....

Enjoy!

I'm having the same choice to make as you are, I have that same setup. I always felt like I lost power when I put that mac midpipe on, and seeing how the twin turbo kit I'm getting replaces that anyway, might as well ditch it now. I believe I'm going to go with a magnaflow catback, and whatever midpipe the TT kit comes with.

Open header sounds exactly how you might imagine. Like total SH1T!! Heh, when they put mine on, they asked me if they could fire it up while everything was off the car, they wanted to see how it would sound, this, mind you, was at an import shop (but they do badass exhaust work/welding etc etc) and so, I let them. Sounded like hell, and way too loud, I could feel the engines sound in my chest.

Whoa buddy, you've got that completely opposite. H is throatier and deeper and the X is what produces the high pitch "nascar" sound. H's produce an old muscle car sound.
