Think about this. All mufflers will eventually get louder as they start to burn out. The only difference is the way the air enters and exits giving each different muffler its own unique sound. I personally have always liked Flowmaster due to the deep throaty sound on acceleration and the nice pop and rumble when down shifting and the car is just winding down without giving it any gas. I thought the gurgling sounds were from the H-pipe and went away with a X-pipe?

I just have FRPP exhaust for now but I should have JBA LT's with the O/R H-pipe by July...

I am telling you if you want loud use borla.

One thing to keep in mind is that loud is cool but cities and towns now have noise ordances which you could very well find yourself with a noise pollution ticket. Just a thought.

I've got bbk shorty equal length headers, bbk h-pipe, and flomaster 40 series cat- bac, on the Saleen, and i've noticed it getting louder over time! Some people don't like flo's, but to me you can't beat the sound!! Music to my ears.
You were on the cruize, I'm sure you heard lots of different sounding Stangs,
especially going through the tunnel!!

Yea, it was. Offroad Xpipe and the FR500 exhaust makes for a nice high tight exhaust note, but still not as loud as SLP. Everything I have heard the SLP catback on has been teeth rattling, But if you put in your mufflers backwards, that might make it a little quieter, lol

I don't get the :Zip2: ? It's gonna be loud dude. But different strokes for different folks.

On my '03 i did bassani o/r x and cat back. My research found two types of stainless steel used in mustang exhaust. 409 stainless steel and 304 stainless steel. The 304 is said to be higher quality hence more corosion/rust resistant which in the n.w. obviously has its benifits if you drive in the weather. I really like the sound, but gets a little slappy at higher rpm. If that makes any sense. I tried it first with the baffles in and then took them out which did minimize that sound. Cruising at 2000 rpm it is tame but let out and it rumbles, or get into it and it roars, I like that. I could be sniffing exhaust fumes but I am convinced of torque loss after putting the o/r x on. The x doesn't back pressure like an h, so in hind sight I may have gone h. my two cents.
