Exhaust Drone Is Fixed

I found a way to fix it myself, don't cruise at 2000 rpm's


no, good stuff though, I don't mind the drone that much though.

The drone is because the mufflers are the same size. If they were slightly different the drone would be gone.

Mine ONLY drones at 2000-2100 RPM so it's very limited and I hate it believe it or not. I wish it would drone from 2000-3000

I think that post is interesting...however woudln't that adversely increase backpressure and lower engine output? Your basically creating another cross over that air can get caught in and create more backpressure.

With smalled pipes and a better way of mounting them... this could be very helpful for some people.

I prefer a little drone like everyone else on here though.

It's still cool that people are out there "tweaking and testing" things though.... you don't see a lot of do it yourself mods anymore.

jakes, so your saying that the pipes are just welded on but they are solid all the way through or you dont cut a hole in your exhaust pipes?

For anyone wanting every last bit of drone gone, there is another option to consider. Weld in some 18" Magnaflow mufflers. Personally, I would do that instead of the suggestion in this thread, but that is just my opinion.

My recommendation for the Bassani baffles comes from personal experience. They have never been removed from my tips since I first installed them over a year ago. They are cheap, easy to install, and very effective. I, too, was questioning the Magnaflow catback (no packs) purchase the first time I was on the highway with a CD playing and trying to hold a conversation. We were practically yelling at each other. The baffles corrected all that. I will concede that there is still a residual drone, but it so much less now. I would guess the drone noise level was probably cut in half (or so), while still having a very cool (although slightly quieted) exhaust note heard from the street. Any one wanting to fix the drone, I would recommend the baffles first which are much easier and cheaper -- they are also easily removable when you want to be loud. That is just my personal opinion, though.

Yea and then the muscle car sound is gone and you have exhaust that gets quieter the higher you rev past 3000 rpms

Not accurate in all cases, didn't work for me!

I ended up ditching the o/r pipe.
