Exhaust Help

I currently have an '00 GT with stock headers, O/R UPR x-pipe, and I believe the car has flows already on it. The car sounds great but I am starting to hear rasping coming from the flows which tells me the mufflers are going bad. I am looking to switch out my mufflers but cant decide on what to get. I would like a deeper and louder sound if possible. Not too too loud but louder than what I have now. I also want as minimal rasping as possible.

Suggestions anyone!!!!

The rasping may just be the setup. Catless X pipes and Flowmasters generally make that type of noise.

If you think a baffle has broken, when the car is off (and the exhaust cool) just beat on the muffler with your fist a few times and see if you hear something rattling around inside.

If you are ready to trade them out anyway, I have a Mac Flowpath catback with a UPR catless pipe and I like it. It does have a little of the X/chambered muffler rattle but it isn't as bad as the Flowmasters.

I picked my catback with 3" polished tips for $320 a few years back...

If you want something different altogether, I'd switch to a straight through type muffler and never look back. Magnapacks would sound sick, as would Borla Stingers... but thats $$$!

+1 go with a straight thru muff. Stingers sound good as so loud mouth 2's.
