exhaust loudness ?

The o/r h and flows isnt loud enough? I sure hope I'm not dissapointed when I get my midpipe. I have 40's on my GT, and I love the way the sound with a o/r h. I have heard a couple GT's with what sounded like 40's, and they were VERY loud....just the way I want mine.

It probably is, just not the loudest it could be (with straight through mufflers). I just like the way the flows sound with an o/r h. Just take note the next time you go to the track (if you do), or anywhere for that matter, and notice that the cars are never really loud until they pass you and you are BEHIND the car where the exhaust exits. When I would go to the track I would often sit near the end at the finish line so I didnt get my ears blown out as the cars ran (for the drag cars that is).

If you like the sound, I agree keep it. You might get louder by swapping mufflers, but the tone of the straight through mufflers is quite different than chambered ones, and if you like your sound now, dont change it. Some headers would probably add a little more volume though.

You already have flowmasters with o/r h pipe. How much louder do you want it ? By the way magnaflow or borla will make it sound quite. Unless you get stinger or magnapacks. Want loud run no mufflers.
You could get some Borla Stingers. That should still sound deep and muscular and definitely LOUDER

If you want louder add headers and push 400HP. Cant get much louder and keep the Flowmaster sound with what you got. If you just want loud yank the Flows n add these. http://www.classicchambered.com/ These are similar to what people used and got pulled over for in the 60's for being too loud from the dealership. I tried 'em. Change the sound but are no quieter than straight pipes. Of course I used 'em on a old 450HP small block Chevy.

Well i have a 3 inch bassani H pipe with no cats and flowmasters and my car is the loudest mustang i have ever herd....i thihk i might have a clip of when i put sea foam in my car if you want to hear it...

I assume 3" pipe would make ti louder but cost you power.

magnapacks and slp loudmouth are the loudest mufflers you can get. I personally don't like either one of them.

flowmaster makes a 1 chamber but the drone is rediculous.

I would keep you current exhaust and just do heads and cams. I don't know if it will give you any more db but it will increase you rpm range and the agresivness of the sound. translation it will sound sick.

strait pipe is the loudest option but I don't like the way strait pipe sounds either. I personally like a high rpm motor with borla xr-1's on it. that is about as good as it gets IMO. I don't know if it is the loudest but it sounds the best. see if you can find a clip of like a 98 cobra with the xr-1 borla exhaust. sounds great. the stingers sound good as well. I don't think they are louder than packs though but they sound better IMO.
