Hey everyone, I was planning on picking up the MAC dual exhaust conversion kit (99-04) from americanmucle.com. First, is this the best place to get it from? Second, in the description it says it bolts on. How much should it be for a shop to put it on? I've researched a little bit, and most people say they got it put on for around $75. I just wanted to verify the price, so i don't get ripped off. Thanks!

I paid 150 from my shop, that was for the full system conversion including catted X pipe. If the MAC you mention is a partial Y Pipe bolt on then that's probably about right.

Installation can run from $150.00 to $500.00 depending on the system design. Mine cost me $700.00 to install. Full custom system I designed, completely welded together. Changing to duals needs, hangers, a set of tail pipes, mid-pipe installation, ect...

I think $700 is an outrageous price to pay. I would like a dual exhaust on my v6 as well and was recently quoted for one. They quoted me 450, and gave me the option of choosing a midpipe. Even for that price I am not quite feeling it. If the MAC was indeed bolt on as they claim, I would buy that, however you have to buy a second hanger for the other exhaust pipe, not to mention actually needing to weld. With that being said, if you really want a solid addition, have it custom fabricated.
