exhuast questions- need louder

hey there, i want my car to be louder without hurting performance in anyway...i have bbk headers,catless x-pipe and flowmaster 40's, what can i do so its louder? would running straight pipe be ok or hurt performance? 331 carbd motor

do you have tailpipes? if so i'd take them off and let the mufflers flow. theres alot of drone with it but it sounds much better imo. but everyone likes different sounds. i had no dumps coming from my mufflers though it was just the muffler outlet so all the exhaust was resonating off the rear axle. sounded pretty tight when you go under an overpass and punch it

ps: this is when i had flowmaster 40's on the 89 awhile back. not the turbo muffs.

You can lose low end torque with straight pipes.

id like to keep my tailpipes, i like the look, is there a better flowing muffler out there?

im sure everyother muffler out there flows better then a flowmaster... magnaflow, i would try spintechs if you want something louder... MAC is ok with tails but not as loud as flowmaster IMO
