do you run some of you a capless, thin radiator with pressurized expansion tank in v8/302 c.i.?
wondering, what is the minimum volume in the tank above the coolant level to be left for coolant expansion? any tip for its placement?

the problem: hoses get too much pressure, all of them, and the engine seems to be runnning too hot (even heats monte carlo bar). i suspected internal leak, wrong (reverse) water pump, yet none of these turned out to be causing this.

No, I have never run or seen such a radiator, in a Mustang. That's the province of cars which have the radiator so low that it is impossible to put the cap on it, such as Corvettes and certain Japanese cars. If you have too much pressure, it means your cap is not working properly. On most cars, the radiator cap also acts as the cooling system pressure regulator.
