i have been doing research on the explorer intake and heads swap info and i am wanting to do just a cheap upgrade to get some more power and i am wandering if i can use my stock tb and egr spacer with the intake from the explorer and what else would i need to get or have done to the intake.and also the gt40 and gt40p heads i know that the p's are better but would my factory headers bolt up i priced a set of headers for the p's and they r $300,r the gt40s a good choice to get while on a budget, are they worth it?

you can get the stainless frpp headers for 225ish...or mac has a set for cheaper.

in the real world though, don't worry about the performance difference. You're not gonna really see it in a setup like yours.

you can run your stock t/b and spacer on the explorer intake, but it's gonna choke it.

search tmoss here, he should have instructions how to modify the stock explorer 65mm throttle body for use on a mustang. That way all you have to do is pick up a 65mm spacer and you're good to go.

+1, the stock 60mm TB is too small for the GT-40 stuff. Use the Explorer TB or buy an aftermarket TB, my 70mm TB/EGR bolts up to my Exploder intake and matches the inlet diameter almost perfectly.

Not sure what MAF meter you have, but the stock 50mm one is way too small for the GT-40 stuff too. I'd upgrade to a 70mm or bigger MAF meter as well.

Same with exhaust. Stick with the factory stuff and you won't see the full potential of the GT-40.
