explorer intake installed, now problems

ok i have a 88 Gt speed density, installed the explorer upper/lower today, now besides the lack of power (i suspect timing) there's a problem with charging, usually cruising on the freeway/around town it'd be about 13 (volts?) now it's right around 10 at all times, at idle around 8.... why would this be happening? also i think i have a vaccume leak somewhere, the idle's going crazy .... i'm really fed up with the car right now, it was a long day,

I'd say you have a vacuum leak.. With the car idling, spray carb cleaner all around your intake slowly, and if you hear a throttle change, you have a leak..

ok well i know i have a leak to find, but tested the alternator, it's fried, so ordered one from work, i love ordering stuff from work, guy delivered the alternator 15 minutes later, so its on the car and i'm happy for now at least
