explorer intake on 95 gt

im thinkin bout pickin up an explorer intake at the junkyard if i can find one in good shape.....if i port it and put it on my nearly stock 95 gt, what kind of gains whould i be looking at....also what is required for the swap, and will it fit under a stock hood???.....thx

I did the swap on mine. Tmoss ported it and did an excellent job, however I wouldn't recommend that you port yours. The Explorer flows enough air to feed E7 heads; by porting it, you are going to kill your low-speed torque and you will gain little to nothing on the top end.

The Exploder manifold is a direct swap and I believe any 96+ 5.0 Explorer/Mountaineer manifold would work.

Depends on your plans....a ported stock lower from Tmoss is a nice little hit for 100.00.
I would wait til i was going into the heads for an explorer....least I did...Toms lower and a nice exhaust give's a nice all around hit but the top end is really noticable...she wont be winded at 4k or so...it'll pull all the way...
I ran one for a couple years...for 100.00 you cant beat it...throw some 373s in there and youll be amazed at the difference from stock...

Here's one...gasket match the top and clean up the ports some...Tom works the bottom runners and re-welds #1 and #5 runners to straighten the airflow out (see the weld spots)

Just checkin in........I don't have a 94-95 lower on the shelf, but I have a few 87-93 lowers which are the same, I just plug the ACT and EGR coolant holes, the only difference between the two. Or I can do yours. click on my avatar and PM me for specifics.
