explorer intake

I have a complete explorer motor in the garage.
Can I just install the explorer lower intake only on my GT? The reason is, I do not have an elbow,YET, but I would like to measure the difference at the track. From what ive read the GT Lower is the worst part of the GT's intake system.

The stock GT upper or lower is not compatible with the Exploder GT40 upper or lower.
The parts have to install as a pair.

Yup, the stock GT intake ports are oval and inline, while the explorer/gt40 tubular/cobra ports are round and staggard.

An explorer lower will work with a cobra or gt40 upper though and vice versa....a cobra lower will work with an explorer and gt40 tubular upper
